What is SAIH?
The Southwest Agroecology Incubation Hub (SAIH) is a flagship programme of The West Groves Empowerment Initiative (WGEI) designed to equip smallholder farmers with the knowledge, skills, technologies, and support needed to transition towards sustainable, climate-resilient, and regenerative agriculture.
The programme combines practical field-based learning, agroecological demonstration farms, farmer mentorship, enterprise development, and community-based innovation to improve food security, increase farm productivity, restore degraded landscapes, and strengthen rural livelihoods.
SAIH operates through community-based Agroecology Hubs that serve as centres for learning, innovation, collaboration, and sustainable agricultural development across Southwest Nigeria.

Where Are the Hubs Located?
The current phase of the SAIH programme operates across three states in Southwest Nigeria. Each state will host community Agroecology Hubs where practical training, demonstrations, mentoring, and farmer engagement activities will take place. Additional hub locations may be introduced as the programme expands.

Eligibility Criteria
Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate commitment to community development and sustainable farming.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be resident in, or actively farming within, Southwest Nigeria.
- Have an interest in sustainable agriculture and agroecology.
- Be willing to participate in training sessions and project activities.
- Be prepared to implement recommended agroecological practices where applicable.
- Be willing to share learning and experiences with other farmers in their community.
- Complete the registration process truthfully and accurately.
